My Role On The Project

Photographer. Researcher. Location Coordinator. 

Allegra Strategies’ book, The New York Coffee Guide, was first published in July 2012 and profiles the top 100 coffee venues in NYC. Originally only featured in the UK, I worked with the Allegra team to create the inaugural New York publication of this series. As one of three lead members of the project team, I was responsible for research, outreach, location scouting and conducting interviews across hundreds of coffee venues in NY in order to select the top establishments. While in the field I was responsible for capturing and editing all photographs featured in the book.

The New York Coffee guide

The NYCG includes a shop's location, description of the atmosphere, hours of operation, owner's info, names of the coffee roaster, machine, grinder, and additional food options. Other features of the book include a forward by Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, a brief history of coffee in NYC and a Coffee Glossary (for those unfamiliar with some of the technical terms). All the things a true coffee lover would want to know.

 The NYCG was sold in featured coffee shops, on the web, and is  still  available for purchase on Amazon.
